Introduction to the Championships
The 2025 Austrian Youth Championships were an exciting event, filled not only with tension but also with high expectations and challenges. In my age group, U21, the national title was up for grabs, and I had the honor of shining in this competition.
The Course of the Competition
From the very beginning, the competition was strong, especially with me, as an ÖGV squad player, and the Bulgarian Victoria Georgieva. With my excellent opening round of 69 strokes (-4), I immediately made a strong statement. It was my best tournament round so far and also the best score of the day in the girls’ competition—and I knew that even a single mistake could still have a major impact on the final result.
My Path to the Title
“After taking the lead initially, the tournament took an unexpected turn during my second round. A double bogey followed by a triple bogey on the critical holes 16 (Par 3) and 17 (Par 4) set me back with 79 strokes. Moments like these are decisive in golf—I learned that it’s not only about reading your game but also about handling pressure at crucial moments. During this phase, I was able to regain my rhythm and stabilize my form, which ultimately made the difference.
After the two rounds, I reclaimed the lead and finally secured the national title. This victory was not only a confirmation of my hard work and dedication but also proof of how important perseverance and focus are. In the years to come, I will continue working with the same passion and determination to further refine my skills and perhaps reach the top again.
In the coming weeks, I will reflect and analyze the lessons from this competition. Winning the 2025 Austrian Youth Championships remains an unforgettable moment in my golfing career, and I look forward to sharing my experiences and inspiring other young female golfers.”
