At 18, I was faced with a decision that would change my life. I was determined to live my dream – a life shaped by my passion for golf. I wanted more than just to explore the boundaries of my home country; I wanted to live in a place where I could grow both as an athlete and as a person. So, I set out for the United States to study and play golf at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

When I first arrived in San Antonio, everything was new and exciting. I left my home in Austria, my family, and friends to pursue my athletic and academic goals in a foreign city on a different continent. The thought of playing at an American university was something incredibly big for me. I had worked hard for many years to reach this moment, and now it was finally here.

My Journey as a Golfer at the University of the Incarnate Word

Golf has always been a part of my life, but at the University of the Incarnate Word, I was able to take my skills to a new level. The training program is excellent, and I am constantly striving to get better every day. With each shot on the golf course, every training session, and each competition, I learned not only to refine my technique but also how to work successfully as part of a team.

Coach Ramos, my golf coach at the University of the Incarnate Word, assured me he would do everything in his power to help me achieve my professional dreams. He himself was a professional on the Banorte Mexico Tour and other renowned tours. His experience and commitment to the team are inspiring. He has a clear vision for our team and works diligently to help us develop, not only as golfers but also as people.

Looking Ahead

Today, I am grateful for all the experiences I have gained over the past six months. I have realized my dream in the United States, and in the process, I have learned so much, not only as a golfer but also as a person. I am proud to be part of the University of the Incarnate Word and to have found my place in the American sports landscape.

My journey is not over – I am still in search of new challenges and want to take my career as a golfer to the next level. But one thing is certain: this decision was definitely the right one. It has shown me that with passion, dedication, and belief in oneself, anything is possible.
